OVER 50 YEARS IN THE INDUSTRY!

We are a family owned and managed establishment which was originally founded by the late Des Helyar back in 1968. Des was a motocross enthusiast; riding in many races and championships up till the age of 36. Des rode alongside many great riders of the 1960's.

Des' passion for everything motocross was injected into the business and has helped it to remain a successful motorcycle dealership for over 50 years!

Des Helyar Motorcycles stocks all road and off-road motorcycle parts and accessories. Items stocked in-store range from used bikes to Motocross clothing and accessories (various brands; thor mx main dealer).

Furthermore, mechanical work is also carried out in our workshop. M.O.T's, bike fixes/ check-ups and restorations are all carried out in house by Des' son Steven Helyar. Steve has over 40 years experience as a motorcycle technician. Here is an example of Steve's attention to detail on a RM125 Suzuki, which was fully stripped back to the frame and restored!

We are able to carry out work on all mainstream bike brands. We carry genuine spares and parts in store and anything not in stock can be ordered for next day delivery.
